PROGRAMS AND CURRICULUM

DECA COMPETITIVE EVENTS
DECA hosts district, state, and international conferences annually where thousands of DECA members from around the globe compete in events categories such as Marketing, Hospitality and Tourism, Business Administration, and Finance. Members participate in these competitions through a multitude of events such as written events, roleplay, multiple choice tests, and oral presentations. Our chapter here at Allen High School hosts training boot camps, weekly study sessions, and mock competitions to ensure that all students are well prepared to succeed at the district and state conferences.

MINI BUSINESS LESSONS & GUEST SPEAKERS
Although competitive events are a great way to increase one's business saavy, our chapter also aims to incorporate mini business lessons in our meetings throughout the year. For example, this year, our members will receive a lesson on successful marketing strategies, and then will be challenged to apply those skills in our fundraisers. We also hope to bring in guest speakers who can provide our members with valuable insight into different careers and aspects in business.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
In any profession, a philanthropic culture is greatly valued and encourages people to give back to their community. Our chapter supports our local community by allowing our members to lead and organize events such as food drives which contributed towards the Allen Community Outreach, and this upcoming year, a homelessness campaign. Philanthropy is greatly advocated for by DECA, which runs annual Service Project Campaigns where individual schools can submit their completed projects for recognition at the State and National conference.
